The material decision comes before size. Concrete, dirt, and asphalt do not belong in a standard general-debris box.

First-time renters get better guidance when they provide specifics. Send the service address, project type, item list, pile measurements or counts, dense material, desired dates, and photos of the placement area. Ask for written terms that explain included weight, rental period, material rules, fill height, and pickup instructions.

For general debris, Haul’n Off lists 15-, 20-, 30-, and 40-yard roll-offs. The smaller end can fit controlled cleanouts and remodels; the larger end supports broad, high-volume work. Size depends on actual contents and access, not a room label or the number of people doing the cleanup.

If the project changes while the container is onsite, contact the provider before adding a new waste stream. Update item counts and photographs, then ask the provider when the change could affect size, weight, or acceptance.
